YOU SEE THESE? They are “QUOTED EMOTICONS”. I, SuitCase, was the INVENTOR of this amazing phenomenon with the usage of the quoted:
“XD”
sometime back in 2002. WHAT THIS INDICATES is merely that I do not feel the emotion “belongs” to me, that it is the sort of thing someone else would say and so it is borrowed. To indicate it is being “quoted” from a different type of person, the quotes are added.
Since I personally do not use XD, :D;, ^^ or others, I quote them. Other people have used this for other emoticons I may use but they may not, hence the emergence of
“:|”, “O_O” and “^____^”!
